Full of 96–98% sulfuric acid, this tank would hold about 9,750 lb of acid (about 15 lb per gallon). It is rated 1.9 SG, above the roughly 1.84 specific gravity of concentrated acid.
This is a single wall tank. To capture leaks and acid fumes without a separate dike, consider a Polypropylene double wall tank.
Up to 75% acid, polypropylene, PVC and CPVC fittings are rated Excellent. Seal bulkheads with Viton® gaskets. No welded flanges in the sidewall for sulfuric acid. See fittings.
Pure sulfuric acid is solid below 51 °F, so concentrated acid stored outdoors may need an insulated tank and heat tracing.
