All sulfuric acid tanks
HDPE, PVDF and polypropylene tanks from 25 to 10,000 gallons, every one rated 1.9 or 2.2 specific gravity for heavy, concentrated acid. Pick a style below to see live sizes, dimensions and prices.
Choose by concentration
The right resin depends on how concentrated your sulfuric acid is. Ratings come from our chemical compatibility database.
HDPE, polypropylene and PVDF tanks all rated Excellent. Every common fitting and gasket works.
HDPE, polypropylene and PVDF all Excellent. Viton® gaskets Excellent; EPDM and Buna-N Good.
PVDF rated Excellent and HDPE rated Good. Polypropylene drops to Fair. Use PVDF fittings and Viton® gaskets.

A sealed outer tank captures a leak from the inner tank and keeps fumes from spilled acid contained. A containment dike catches liquid but not fumes.
FAQ
It depends on concentration. HDPE is the most economical and is rated Excellent up to 75% and Good to 93%. PVDF (Kynar®) is rated Excellent from 1% to 93%. Polypropylene is rated Excellent up to 75% and handles temperatures to 200°F.
Concentrated sulfuric acid has a specific gravity of about 1.84, so tanks must be rated at least 1.9 SG. We list only 1.9 and 2.2 SG tanks; 2.2 SG adds wall thickness for extra margin.
HDPE vertical and double wall tanks run up to 10,000 gallons, PVDF tanks to 5,000 gallons and polypropylene tanks to 6,000 gallons.
Tanks used for sulfuric acid carry a limited one-year warranty from the date of manufacture; installed fittings carry a one-year warranty.
Yes. We install fittings and gaskets matched to your concentration at our Willis, Texas plant before the tank ships. We do not weld flanges into the sidewall for sulfuric acid service.
Send the acid concentration, temperature, volume and fittings you need. We’ll match the resin, SG rating and gaskets and send a quote.
